I'm sitting in Sydney Airport waiting for my flight to Brisbane. The last few days have been a bit of a blur of packing, sorting and farewells. I couldn't have done it all if it wasn't for my most loved friend J and her husband. Big shoutout too to my neighbour A getting up at 3.30am this morning to take me to the airport.
I have many friends I love dearly in Wellington so the excitement of pending adventure is mixed with sadness that I will be missing out on much social cycling (commuting to and from work side by side while chatting) and time spent with precious friends.
I have read many books and watched many documentaries on adventurous people and all feel the tension between what represents home and the adventurous away. One quote from Beyond Borders Season 1 Ep. 1 stands out for me: "If you have been called out on an adventure, you have no choice! Go!"
So I go on a bike ride, but this would be just as true for a new job or building a tiny house or moving to a new place. Go!!
